Better Podcasting #258 – Comparing Rodecaster Pro Alternatives

Tascam just released a new recorder/mixer called the Mixcast 4, and it reminds us a lot of the Rodecaster Pro. This episode we run down the specs on the Mixcast 4 and then summarize some other mixers/recorders, what we think is their pros/cons, and how they stack up against eachother. We hope this episode helps you navigate what is rapidly building to be a sea of options in this space.

In our Better Podback, we have listeners answer polls including what they’d like to see for funny podcast awards and what SP should do with his spare time. We also have people comment on new gear and price increases in hardware.

How would you rate the Rodecaster Pro vs the new Tascam Mixcast 4. I’m looking for the better options as an audio engineer and would love to hear your opinion.
